1. Controller
The controller responsible for this website and support communication is:
CommonMedia GmbHSpadenteich 4–5
20099 Hamburg, Germany
Phone: +49 40 25306596-0
Email: datenschutz@commonmedia.de
Managing Director: Patricia Eggebrecht
2. No developer collection from Carry
Carry does not create an account and does not send your Clubs, Shots, locations, settings, identifiers, usage analytics, crash analytics, or advertising data to CommonMedia GmbH or to third-party partners. Carry has no advertising, tracking, analytics, backend, or cloud sync service in version 1.0.
3. Information stored on your device
Carry stores the information needed to provide its features locally on your device. This can include your Club Collection and Bag, Club labels and descriptive details, Shot History, manually entered distances, Shot directions, profile statistics, Distance Unit preference, and the state of an unfinished Active Shot.
4. Location
If you choose to record a Tracked Shot, Carry asks for location access while you use the app. It saves one accepted position near the start of the Shot and one accepted position near the ball’s finishing position, together with each Location Accuracy estimate. Carry uses those two positions to calculate straight-line Shot Distance.
Carry does not record your walking route and does not use background location. You can deny location access and continue to use Manual Shot entry and every other non-location feature.
5. Carry Backup
You may create a Carry Backup and choose where to save or send it through the system share sheet. The backup is not encrypted and may contain all Carry data on the device, including precise Shot Positions and an unfinished Active Shot. You control the file and its destination.
If you save or share a backup using another company’s service, that company’s privacy and security practices apply. CommonMedia GmbH does not receive a copy unless you deliberately send it to support.
6. App purchase
Apple processes the purchase of Carry through the App Store. CommonMedia GmbH does not receive your full payment-card information. Apple may provide developers with aggregated sales and financial reporting under its own privacy terms.
7. Retention and deletion in the app
Carry data remains on your device until you edit or delete individual records, replace local data through restore, erase the app’s data, or uninstall the app. Backups remain wherever you chose to save them until you delete them there.
Because CommonMedia GmbH does not hold your Carry data on a server, we cannot retrieve or delete it for you.
8. This website
Technical delivery
When you visit this website, the hosting infrastructure may temporarily process technical request data such as IP address, date and time, requested page, referrer, browser, operating system, and response status. This is necessary to deliver the site, maintain security, and diagnose faults. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in a secure and reliable website. Technical logs are retained only for as long as operationally necessary and are not combined with Carry app data.
No cookies or analytics
This website does not set analytics or advertising cookies and does not embed third-party tracking, maps, video players, or social-media widgets.
9. Support communication
If you contact us by email or telephone, we process the information you provide to answer your request. Depending on the request, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for steps related to your app purchase or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for our legitimate interest in providing support and improving Carry. Legal retention obligations may require some business correspondence to be kept longer.
Do not send a Carry Backup unless support explicitly requests it. A backup may include precise Shot Positions and other information stored in Carry.
10. Recipients
Service providers used for website hosting and business email may process limited data on our behalf under appropriate contractual safeguards. We do not sell personal data and do not share Carry app data with advertising or analytics partners.
11. Children
Carry is suitable for a general audience but is not specifically directed to children and is not submitted to Apple’s Kids category. The app does not create accounts or collect data from children or adults through a developer server.
12. Your rights
Where CommonMedia GmbH processes personal data about you—for example, support correspondence—you may have rights under the GDPR, including:
- access under Article 15;
- rectification under Article 16;
- erasure under Article 17;
- restriction of processing under Article 18;
- data portability under Article 20; and
- objection to processing based on legitimate interests under Article 21.
To exercise these rights, email datenschutz@commonmedia.de. These rights do not give us access to data stored only inside Carry on your device.
13. Complaint
You may lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for our Hamburg establishment is the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (HmbBfDI), Ludwig-Erhard-Str. 22, 20459 Hamburg. Its complaint information is available at datenschutz-hamburg.de.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if Carry’s features, the website, service providers, or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy here and update the date above. If Carry begins sending data off-device, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy disclosure before or with the relevant app release.
